How It Works

Whether you're using the Bumpnest Maternity Pillow on its own or with the Full Body Attachment (FBA), your comfort is completely customisable. Here's how to make the most of your setup:

Step 1: Set Up Your Pillow

Start by connecting the two main wedges using the adjustable Velcro strap. Medium length is a great starting point, but feel free to shorten or extend it based on your body and bed size.

Lay the pillow flat on your bed, then position yourself on your side between the wedges.

Step 2: Find Your Perfect Wedge Support

  • Front wedge: Gently tuck it under your bump—just enough to relieve pressure.
  • Back wedge: Wedge it more firmly behind you to help prevent rolling onto your back at night.

Need to adjust?
✅ Slide the pillow higher or lower along your body.
✅ Shorten or lengthen the strap for more or less space.
✅ Remove a handful of filling if it feels too firm—small adjustments go a long way!

Step 3: Add the Auxiliary Pillow

This small pillow is your secret weapon for extra support:

  • Under your bump for added lift
  • Behind your back for stability
  • Between your knees for hip and pelvic relief

Step 4: Use the Full Body Attachment (FBA)

When you need even more support (hello, third trimester!), the FBA transforms your setup into a full-body comfort system. Try these go-to positions:

💤 Right Side Laying (Position 1)

Attach the FBA to one end of your main pillow to support your back and pelvis. Use the other wedge for your knees and the Auxiliary Pillow wherever you need extra comfort.

💤 Left Side Laying (Position 2)

Roll over and let the FBA support your hips and legs. This is especially soothing for pelvic or hip pain.

💤 Between the Legs (Position 3)

Use your Bumpnest in the standard setup and lay the FBA between your legs to relieve pressure on your hips, knees, and pelvis.

💤 The Hug (Position 4)

Rotate Position 1 by 180° to wrap the FBA around your upper body like a hug—ideal for shoulder and bump support.

💤 Back Support (Position 5)

Keep the FBA on your back as you roll over, curving from your lower back up to your shoulders to help reduce back pain and prevent nighttime rolling.

💤 Quick Nap (Position 6)

Use the FBA on its own—from shoulders to legs—as a big, comfy cuddle for couch naps or quick rest sessions.

 

How to Care for Your Bumpnest Maternity Pillow

Slip Cover:

  • Machine wash separately on a delicate cycle at 30°C / 85°F
  • Tumble dry low on delicate
  • Cool iron if needed
  • Do not dry clean
  • Bleach only when necessary

Pillow Insert:

  • Use a commercial-size washer/dryer
  • Wash on a delicate cycle at 30°C / 85°F
  • Tumble dry low on delicate
  • To help maintain the pillow’s shape, add a sneaker or tennis ball wrapped in a pillowcase to the dryer
  • Use non-chlorine bleach only if needed
  • Do not iron or dry clean
