Safety first
Key safety guidelines
The Baby Pod is a cosy, supportive space for rest and play — designed with safety in every detail. Keep these guidelines in mind every time you use it.
Always supervise your baby
Never leave your baby unattended in the Pod, whether they are resting or playing. The supportive walls are not a safety barrier.
Back for resting, tummy for play
When your baby is resting in the Pod, always place them flat on their back with feet touching the bottom. Tummy-down is for supervised tummy time only — never leave bub face-down unattended.
Not for sleep
The Pod is for supervised awake time only. If your baby falls asleep, transfer them to a safe sleep space such as a bassinet or cot.
No extra bedding needed
No additional pillows, blankets, or toys are needed or recommended inside the Pod. Extra bedding can pose a suffocation or overheating risk.
Safe sleep
Sleep and the Bumpnest Baby Pod
The Bumpnest Baby Pod is not intended for sleeping. Babies should always sleep on a flat, firm, and uncluttered surface that meets current Australian safe sleep standards.
Tummy time
Using the Baby Pod for tummy time
The padded bumper walls make the Bumpnest Baby Pod ideal for supervised tummy time as your baby grows. Regular tummy time strengthens neck and upper body muscles and supports healthy development.
Position bub tummy-down inside the Pod
Place your baby face-down with their arms resting over the padded bumpers. The bumpers provide gentle support and keep them safely within the Pod.
Let them engage with their surroundings
The raised bumpers give bub something to push against, helping build neck and upper body strength. A toy or your face in front of them encourages them to lift and look.
Keep sessions short and positive
Start with just a few minutes at a time and build up gradually. Stop if bub becomes distressed. Tummy time should be a regular but gentle part of each day.
